Draft — needs legal review

This is a placeholder for the launch website. It is not legal advice. Have a lawyer in British Columbia review it before this page is treated as final.

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 30, 2026. Draft for legal review.

Who we are

This draft describes the website at snapandfixhome.com, operated as Snap & Fix Home for a home-repair marketplace launching in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The legal name of the operating business and its mailing address will be added before this policy is final.

Contact: hello@snapandfixhome.com.

What this draft covers

It covers this marketing website: the homeowner waitlist, the contractor interest form, and the pages around them. It does not yet cover the iPhone and Android app, which is still in development. The app will need its own privacy notice before it collects information.

Information we collect

On the waitlist we ask for an email address and, if you choose, a city or area.

On a repair request, by text or on the Get help page, we collect your mobile number, the city or area, photos, the description, the messages in the conversation, and, only after you choose a contractor, your name and service address. Contractors see the photos, the diagnosis, the estimate, and the area. They do not see the street address until you pick them.

On the contractor form we ask for your name, business name, trade or trades, service areas, years of experience, an optional licence number, whether you have WorkSafeBC coverage, whether you have liability insurance, phone, email, optional notes, and an optional photo of your work.

If you email us, we keep that correspondence. The company that hosts the site may keep technical logs, which can include an IP address, the browser type, and the time of a request, so the site can be delivered and protected. This website does not ask you to create an account.

How we use it

We use waitlist details to send occasional notes about Snap & Fix.

We use a repair request to diagnose the problem, text you, and, if you ask, request quotes from contractors. After you choose one, we send that contractor your name, mobile number, and service address.

We use contractor details to review an application and to contact the business. A submission is not published on this site and does not by itself put a business on the marketplace.

We do not sell personal information.

How it is stored

Submissions are written to a private file on the server when that file system can be written to. When a Formspree form is configured, the same details are also sent to Formspree so the operator receives them by email. Work photos are re-encoded when the server can do so, which removes most camera metadata such as location. If a photo cannot be stored, the rest of the form can still be saved and we will say so.

Formspree and the host (Vercel, once the site is deployed there) may process information outside Canada. Counsel should review the cross-border wording before this draft is treated as final.

How long we keep it

Waitlist emails are kept until launch notices are finished, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. Contractor applications are kept while we are reviewing them and building the marketplace, and deleted on request.

Cookies and similar tools

This build of the site does not run advertising or analytics scripts. The host may use strictly necessary technical cookies or logs to serve the site and to keep it secure.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the information you sent by emailing hello@snapandfixhome.com. A British Columbia organization is generally subject to the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). PIPEDA can apply to commercial activity across provinces or borders. That sentence is a flag for counsel, not a legal conclusion.

Children

The site is not directed at anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

When a final policy replaces this draft, the date at the top will change. Until then, treat this page as unfinished.
